INFORMATION
Kettleshulme has been given the opportunity to work with BT to bring superfast broadband to the village. In order to do this, we need to gather names, addresses and telephone numbers of people within the community who support the project. This doesn’t commit anyone to anything, it just provides evidence that the community is behind the idea. The more people that we can get to support it, the less it will cost (due to the way BT work out their costing).
The way the funding will work is that there is an amount of funding provided specifically because we have a school (woohoo - we are off to a good start!). We also have a number of houses who get very little internet coverage. Each one of these gets an additional grant of £350 towards the project, but only if we can get supporters registered before the end of March. After that, the residual costs will be split, BT will pay half and the community will have to raise the rest. We don’t know yet how much this will be.
You can find further information on BT’s website http://www.communityfibre.bt.com/#home .
